This week, the most obvious answer is sleep 🙂 Chickpea is on her third week of sleeping through the nights. If you’d told me a month a go I’d be able to go to bed at night and not need to get out of it twenty minutes later I would have laughed at you…and then burst into tears.
But this week’s What I’m Lovin’ is not about sleep. It’s about Will Smith.
What do I love about Will Smith? Is it his sticky-out ears? Is it his goofiness? Is it the corded muscles on a tall, lean frame? Well, yes, it’s all of those things, but specifically (this week, at least) it’s his performance in Hancock.
Now, I know the film was critically mauled. I know the word of mouth was bad, but I loved it! Maybe it’s cause my husband and I rarely get to go to the flicks any more – the cost of tickets, popcorn and babysitting means we have to take out a second mortgage – but I don’t think that’s just it. I’ve been a huge Will Smith fan for many, many, many, many, many years and I thought Hancock was lots of fun. In an era of superhero movies, Smith dared to create a hero so flawed it was almost impossible to like him. And yet I did. I sympathised with him. I felt for him. Yes, the movie kinda got a bit silly by the end, but hey, when Big Willie grins, I grin back. Doesn’t matter how silly the movie is (*ahem* I’m looking at Wild, Wild West here *grin*)
I’m hopeless at movie reviews, which is quite sad considering I wanted to be a movie critic when I was a teenager, so I’ll wrap this up here before it just becomes a big drool fest over Will Smith, but I’d like to recommend Hancock. It’s fun, it’s action-packed and it’s eye-candy, Will Smith style…which in my opinion, is very yummy eye-candy indeed 🙂
